Watford Get Active Awards
Community Project of the Year 2017
Watford Borough Council’s Watford Get Active programme of free and low-cost fitness activities has been named Community Project of the Year in the Hertfordshire Service to Sport Awards.
Since its launch, Watford Get Active has helped more than 3,900 people, with more than 46,690 recorded attendances at its events.
Cllr Karen Collett, whose portfolio includes overseeing the council’s community events, said: “We’re delighted to have been recognised in the Hertfordshire Service to Sport Awards. Watford Get Active is a fantastic community project. We have got so many people out and about exercising, enjoying a new activity, making new friends and improving their health. We hope that people can take inspiration from this project and look after their wellbeing for many years to come!”
